. . . make for a difficult hunt!
Hit up three fields this morning, getting a later start than normal. All had standing corn and/or beans around them. Most birds seemed to be out feeding by the time we'd enter the grass.
We still managed to kick up 15 roosters, 8 hens, and two deer. The three roosters that held on point made our game bag. One second year bird and two from this year's hatch. The wind was brutal, and had the birds extremely flighty.
Still . . . better than working!
