Who hunted in phillips county?

Just wondering who hunted in Phillips County this opening weekend? On a scale for 1 being the lowest to 10 the highest, what was your birds in the bag out come?

I think it was a 10 but i only hunted 2 fields and we were done by noon, 3 of us had our limit. Here is My limit with Snakey Jake, Jedi and Satin,

We hunted out there today and had a 2 man limit by 10 am in one field the best part was it was walk-in that every truck we saw stopped at hunted the tree rows then would leave we hunted the grass inbetween those trees and smoked'em in total we flushed 11 roosters,2 hens and saw another 8 roosters flushed by others. It sure beat the day before in morgan county where 4 of us only flushed 2 roosters and 1 hen spent most of the day jockeyin for fields with 100 other groups out there hittin walk-in.

So, what you are telling me is that all the dumb ones are already dead??????

Yes... the dumb ones are either dead or educated. The birds are a little down from last years peak.

Our group had many limits on Sat but we had to work our tail off on Sun to even get a few.

Great weekend but still Colorado pheasant hunting....

I hunted SW, SE, and NE Phillips county opening weekend. I saw more birds last weekend than I did last year, or any other year I have been up there for opening. Most of our party (10) was limited out by noon on Saturday. Sunday we didn't get into as many birds but still got a good amount of birds. I think about 1/2 our group got their limit on Sunday.

Here is picture of me with the 9 birds for the 3 guys in my truck and my dogs.

My dogs took a pounding. I don't know if it was the cover or the frost on Sunday morning but my dogs knuckles and legs were raw and bloody. It didn't slow them down but they are definitely sore today. Hopefully they are both ready for 3 days of hunting starting Friday. If not I guess I need to get more dogs.

Sitting in the Seattle airport on my way home to Alaska. Had a great weekend hunting CRP around irrigated pivots. Numerous times I ran out of shells in my gun and pointed an empty gun at a rooster. I limited out both days. Saw 100's of birds and more roosters than I've ever seen. Jumped one covey of quail. Saw one monster whitetail buck explode out of the brush in front of me on Sunday. Lets all hope for a easy winter and good nesting next year to add to this bird population.

Hit some Phillips WIA yesterday and today... Sunday tough, lots of hunters out there, only place we had any success was the first field we hit. Everywhere else we went, someone else had just run the birds into the corn or the adjacent private land.

Today was much better - less pressure on the birds meant a LOT more roosters flushing for us. Now if only I could shoot better...:(
