Going on a spring bear hunt in MT in a few weeks and putting together an oh %$&^ bag to put inside my daypack. Looking for suggestions.

I'd start with the biggest, baddest Leatherman multitool I could find. Then add 2-3 ways to make a fire.

Others can add other essentials. Water purifiers, signaling devices, sat phone ?, etc etc.

aspirin 325 mg uncoated. self adhesive bandage vs ace bandage (splint making material). knowledge of CPR. Common sense and determination go a long way in the back country, don't forget those at the truck;-) I also have found a blister fix kit very, very helpful. good luck and happy hunting.
