What is your favorite weather?

Ok, so say it is late December and you and and a buddy and a few dogs are headed out to the field... Mother nature calls you and says for Christmas, she will give you any weather you want for your trip.

What would you want? :)

I want a big snow storm and a lite 10 mph breeze and make the snow extra wet becouse when its like that outside all the wonnabe hunters are all inside sippin coffee napin and all the real die hards are making bank on them luxurious birds

That was what I was thinking... maybe just 4 or 5 inches though of snow... not too hard on the birds but hold them tight a bit... Lets you know if they are around or not from the tracks...

My favorite is seeing that big set of tracks running ahead of you... so you know for sure the rooster is somewhere just ahead...

I am happy this year I should be able to get out whenever the snow storms come...

Cold, light breeze and a few inches of snow... I'm happiest when it's about 15 degrees out, keeps the birds tight until even a poor shot like myself has a chance and, as mentioned earlier, keeps the wannabes tucked in their bunks while my dog and I hunt with nobody else around.

You guys got it all RIGHT!!!!!!! DITO!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

but then again i hunted a couple years ago in a nice sleet filled day and it was miserable hunting but the birds stayed tight and nobody else was out the dogs worked good and hard it took a week to get all the mud off them instead of orange and white i had black and orange britts

Either fresh snow or an 1/8" of ice on the CRP stems...either way is fine w/ me. Prefer a slight breeze to walk into, but not so much I can't track the short dogs through the grass.
