Went up to one of my old stand by places from back in the day. Got there only to find it had been disced under and was wheat. This is really too bad because that place always held a lot of pheasants. Things looked bad in an area that was supposed to have been greener than other areas in the state.
Stopped at second spot and immediatley jumped three varmints (deer). Well, that put 'ole Roy into "deer mode" and the hound came out in him strong. He went into deer hunting mode after that. Paid a farmer 20 dollars for tracking me down and letting me know where he was! Would have paid more but that was all I had (in case your thinking I'm a cheap skate LOL). He didn't want to take the money but I insisted. So, off tomorrow to another area that produced at least some last weekend for me.
Note to self. Use E Collar when he starts giving chase to deer.
I would have titled the post something a little less "catchy" but for some reason I don't think "A no bird day" would have gotten any attention.
All in all it was definately not a wasted day. I eliminated ground just like you eliminate water when fishing. No need to go back to that area any time soon.
