Hey was wondering about the bird populations in the south west part of the state or around Pine Ridge. I was going to be out that way and work my way back east and do some hunting with my dogs and just was wondering about walk in areas and if thier was any birds. Also was wondering if anyone knew of any private land that we could hunt obviously paying to hunt for just a couple guys and a couple dogs around the Thankgiving time before and after. Any suggestions would be great and hotels in the area also.

There is fair public ground around the Martin SD area and the LaCreek national wildlife refuage-- just be sure you are on walk-in or public land as there is a lot of Tribal trust land around and you don't want to get on any of that. Get the walk-in book from the state and follow it as it shows all walk-in, state game production, federal waterfowl areas and other open public lands.
