Left for the central part of the state Friday morning after Thanksgiving. Took my wife and 3 of my 4 kids with me. Had a great time. Spent some time in the outdoors together and were able to put a few roosters in the bag. My dad was with us also. Dad and I were the only ones carrying a gun.
Hunted one spot on Friday, shot one rooster and saw 5 hens. Beautiful day out and we ran out of daylight.
Saturday was great. Fresh snow on the ground and my brother n law joined us. Hunted most of the day and ended with 6 roosters and 4 quail. Got some great dog work and had fun.
Sunday was boots on the ground from 0930 until dark. Saw some birds, not a ton. All 3 of us shot well Sunday and bagged 8 roosters. We did lose one that the dogs couldn't locate. Should have been 9.
Today we were home by 3 and we managed to shoot 4 by noon. Had fun and greatly appreciated the moisture on the ground. Had some very memorable points from my dog and greatly enjoyed the time in the field with my family.
All on private ground. WIHA is hunted hard in my area.
