SEASONS
ARCHERY-ONLY (April 1?9, 2013)
Anyone having a spring turkey permit may hunt during this
season using legal archery equipment and hunters 55 and older
may hunt using crossbows.
YOUTH AND DISABILITY (April 1?9, 2013)
Youth 16 and younger who possess a valid turkey permit or
game tag (residents 16 years old and all nonresident youth
must also have a hunting license) may hunt with any legal
equipment during this special turkey season while under the
immediate supervision of an adult 18 or older. Any person
who possesses a valid turkey permit or game tag and hunting
license and has a permit to hunt from a vehicle pursuant to
KAR 115-18-4 or a disability assistance permit issued pursuant
to KAR 115-18-15 may also hunt with any legal equipment
during this season. All resident and nonresident permits
and game tags are valid.
Any person with a permanent physical or visual disability
that prevents the person from hunting safely, as certified by a
physician, may be eligible to obtain a permit to designate
someone else to take a legal limit of game for the permit holder.
A permit holder who is, because of disability, unable to
pursue a wounded game animal may designate any individual
to assist in pursuing and dispatching an animal wounded by
the disabled permit holder. For more information, or for a disabled

REGULAR (April 10 ? May 31, 2013)
All resident and nonresident permits and game tags not filled
during the early seasons may be used during the regular season
using any legal equipment.
PERMITS and GAME TAGS
All individuals, regardless of land ownership and age, must
have in possession a valid spring turkey permit or game tag to
hunt turkeys. In addition, a valid Kansas hunting license is
required of all residents age 16 through 74 and all nonresidents,
except persons hunting on their own land.
No person shall apply for or purchase more than one spring
turkey permit and one game tag or one combo. Permits and tags
obtained through false representation, misrepresentation, or in
excess of the number authorized shall be invalid.
Spring turkey permits and game tags valid in units 1, 2, 3, 5,
and 6 and all youth issues may be purchased over-the-counter
from all license agents or online at ksoutdoors.com.
GENERAL PERMIT
Any resident or nonresident may purchase a turkey permit
valid in units 1,2, 3, 5 and 6. A turkey permit is valid for one
bearded turkey.
COMBO PERMIT/GAME TAG
Any resident or nonresident may purchase a Spring Turkey
Permit/Game Tag Combo and save. The combo includes a permit
and game tag valid in Units 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6. The combo must be purchased
by March 31 and will save hunters $7.50. A general resident
combo is $27.50 ? the price for both permits after March 31 is $35.
The price for a Youth Combo or a Landowner/Tenant Combo is
$17.50 (price after March 31 -- $25). The nonresident combo purchased
by March 31 is $47.50 (price for permit and game tag after
March 31 - $55).
GAME TAG
Any individual with a spring turkey permit may purchase one game
tag valid in units 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6.
YOUTH PERMIT
Resident hunters 15 and younger may purchase a youth permit
for use with any legal equipment during the Youth and Disability
season. Unfilled permits may also be used during the regular season.
Youth Permits are valid statewide, including Unit 4.
LANDOWNER/TENANT PERMIT
To qualify for a landowner/tenant permit, you must be a resident
and own or operate 80 acres or more of Kansas farm or
ranch land located in the unit where you intend to hunt, or be a
resident or tenant actively engaged in the agricultural operation
of 80 acres or more of Kansas farm or ranch land for the purpose
of producing agricultural commodities or livestock and must (1)
have a substantial financial investment in the production of agricultural
commodities or livestock on such farm or ranch land and
the potential to realize substantial financial benefit from such production
or, (2) be a bona fide manager having an overall responsibility
to direct, supervise, and conduct such agricultural operation
and have the potential to realize substantial benefit from
such production in the form of salary, shares of such production,
or some other economic incentive based upon such production.
Members of the immediate family who live with a resident
landowner or tenant may apply for a resident spring turkey permit as
a landowner or as a tenant, but at least 80 acres must be owned by
such landowner or operated by such tenant for each permit sought.
UNIT 4 PERMITS (BY DRAW ONLY)
Spring turkey permits for Unit 4 must be obtained through a preseason
drawing. A total of 500 permits will be issued valid in Unit
4, as well as adjacent units 1, 2 and 5. Fifty percent of these permits
are reserved for applicants who qualify as landowner/tenants
in that unit. Applications for Unit 4 permits must be received online
or by phone at (620) 672-0728 no later than Feb. 8, 2013.
DUPLICATE PERMITS
In the event of loss or theft, duplicate spring turkey permits or
game tags may be obtained from any KDWPT office, license agent,
or online for $12.50. Duplicate permits or tags will not be issued
if a harvested bird is deemed inedible. Duplicates are not valid
until the next calendar day after purchase.
