In what condition is your trigger finger? <feelin' giddy with the opener so close> :beer:
 
Much better now, just returned from a two day trip to South Dakota!!! Had a great time as usual with my 3 hunting buddies hunting public. Bird population is up from the past couple years and the weather was awesome! Can't wait for next weekend, the work week is gonna crawl by!
 
Itchy as hell. Coming back from pheasant hunting public land in South Dakota. 3 days, 4 guys, 2 dogs. Didn’t kill a bird. Disappointing to say the least...

What part of the state were you in? Did you have shot opportunities? That's pretty crazy you didn't kill a bird.
 
Stayed in Huron, hunted several areas within an hour or two from town. 2 shots fired for the group, both at roosters that got up about 40 yards ahead. That’s the closest we got. Walked a lot of miles in some good looking cover, the birds just weren’t in there. Saw some on private and on the roads, but nothing remotely close to what we used to see 10 years ago.

UPDATE: Driving back home to Kansas, I decided to stop by a piece of public near Sioux Falls for the heck of it. Wouldn’t you know it, 100 yards from the truck the dog gets up a rooster and hen, and I dumped the rooster. On the board in South Dakota!
