I just got back from a 3 day hunt (Saturday, Sunday and half of Monday) in Smith Count and wow was it tough! Pheasant numbers seem to be way down, while quail numbers were definately up. We had 6 guns, 6 dogs and hunted private property planted for birds and only managed to get about 5 birds a day! The wind definately didn't help matters, but we still managed to have fun. I had the Astro on my dogs and my 12 year old dog went almost 40 miles and and my 5 year old dog went over 50 miles, needless to say they are both resting comfortably on the couch this morning.
