Stoeger Condor

Anybody ever used a Stoeger Condor over under? Mine came with a 12 gauge and a 20 gauge barrel. I've used it for years. It's nice cause you don't have to worry about tossing it across the creek or scratching it up. I'd love to get a nice beretta or browning someday, but for now I don't think I can beat my old Stoeger. Awesome gun. Great starter and it'll last for years.

My Stoeger Condor is my go-to gun when I have to get down in the dirt like for turkey. I will use it for my first ever duck hunting this fall too because it might get muddy or wet and that's OK. Since it was not pretty to start with -- the new ones are much nicer -- I never worry about it.

Ive only had mine for about 4 months now but really like it. I'm a teacher so buying a "nice" gun would cost me my house and shortly after that my marriage. Love the way it shoots and I think my new one even looks pretty good.

I shot a semi for quite a few years before I thought I'd give an O/U a try. Bought a Stoeger and loved shooting it, have since moved on to a Beretta. But, for a guy looking at getting a cheep over/under you can't go wrong. Great gun for the $.

They are a great gun for the price. I have put mine through all kinds of abuse and it keeps on shooting. I am a better shot with it than my Remington 1100.

These posts are good to hear because my longtime hunting partner would like an OU, but he isn't going to spring for a anything pricy. How much do these Condors cost?

They list for about $350.00 Get a 16 ga,mine is a true pheasant killer:10sign:

A buddy of mine had one. Shot about 3 boxes through it, and it stopped firing. Sent it in to Stoeger, and they sent him a new gun. Nice, right? The second gun lasted less than 2 boxes. They sent him another new gun and he never took it out of the box. Sold it right away.

Could be a rare occurrence, but it kept me from buying a Stoeger.

That's pretty crazy that'd happen twice like that to him. I hunt with two guys and both shoot Stoeger's and have so for the past 10 years. Neither one of them has had a problem. Another great thing about shooting a $350 O/U is when you get a scratch or two it's no big deal. A $1,500 Beretta is a little different story.

I have had a stoeger condor for about 6yrs now, up until this year it was my all use gun, upland, ducks, and i also use it for sporting clays(although not recommended). I have had to have one of the firing pin springs get loose and the top barrel wouldn't tap the primer hard enough, it was a $50 fix at the gun smith to have it taken care of....Thats all that i have had to do in about 5K shells ran though it....fit and finish is not great but the gun goes bang....

I have been wanting a .410, I think the condor would be a good choice. I have the stoeger STF 3000 in 20 gauge and it is a great gun. Especially for the prices.

Condor 410

I have a conder in 410 and its a sweet gun and a bargin for the price--its fit and finish is very good.

I have one

great gun .I bought a black synthetic mossberg maverick over under this year for duck hunting and have no complaints with it either.

A friend of mine just bought the Stoeger sxs the other day. He was wanting to get into bird hunting and has always been a bit of a traditionalist. I am very curious to see how it shoots.

My wife shoots an o/u in 20 ga. and has put a few thousand of rounds through it trap shooting. I take it out grouse hunting and have bagged a few birds with it. I think it has real nice wood and the fit and finish looks good also.

In my search to find someone else to blame, I came across this thread. So, I blame you guys (retroactively, which I can do, because I live in my own reality.)

Went down to the "big" town nearby and visited with the nicest guy in Wisconsin, who happens to own a sporting goods store. He'd mentioned that he had a Winchester 37 and it was very clean. And it was.

It was also on the rack next to a Stoeger Condor 20ga o/u, Youth model. I looked them over, then we talked about the state of the world, weather, and family stuff. I left.

When I got home, I called and bought the Stoeger. Very clean little shotgun, with short barrels ?22"? screw in chokes, and virtually no use. I'm 5'8" and prefer shorter LOP, so the 13" is just fine for me.
I'll pick it up in a couple of days when I go back down there.

I've read a bunch of online reviews, some very critical, but most ranking the model as a decent gun.

I plan on getting up to Northern Wisconsin next Fall and trying Mick and myself out on grouse. So, I'm using that as a rationale, plus, of course, the fact that you guys talked me into it.

I mean, $260 out the door? jeez. How could I not?

But it is your fault.

:D:D

EDIT: As I looked around for a gun case, I started counting shotguns. I have ELEVEN right now. This is stupid. Called my friend and cancelled the order. I have a problem. I am firmly resolved to go cold turkey. No more "wouldn't that be neat" purchases.

It is my fault, not yours.
