I know the majority of pheasant hunting is done on WIA Property but is there any sate land, management areas, etc that hold good numbers of wild pheasants?

I suggest you go to the Colo DOW site, find the search option on the top and type in-

State Wildlife Areas then State Trust Lands...

take notes of the counties and properties you might be interested in and then.... buy gas, check the oil and rubber.... go for a long drive.

Seriously, what was good may not be good now... things do change.

Plenty of SWA that hold birds !!! You can go to the Division and they are all printed out for you! Grab 20 of them and start scouting! Not saying you will ever limit up in one, but most along the Platte River or close by have some birds!!!
