I am thinking about applying for a spring turkey season license.. and I will be the first to admit i know NOTHING about turkey hunting.. I do remember a time when I also knew nothing about pheasant hunting and the knowledge I learned since then has been tremendous..alot of it due to help from alot of people on this message board. I realize this is not pheasant related but I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the spring turkey hunt..what is it like..land area/zone suggestions..worth my time? advice/tactics..really anything.. Thanks!

Give it shot! You might become addicted. If you have any land contacts close to you there are lots of birds close to where you live. I hunt about 10 mins from Savage and get a bird just about every year. Let me know if I can help you out with anything.

I would give it a try, I did it this past fall for the first time. I saw over 40 turkeys one day on my dads farm. I can't wait for spring time to try and actually call one in. I went in the fall and turkeys are impossible to call, I literally had to scatter the turkeys and wait for them to run all over trying to regroup till one came by. My advice would be to pick an area with a high number of tags. Took me a few lottery's for my area to get a tag.
