South West Iowa bird numbers

Good evening everyone,

I am heading out this weekend in the south west area of Iowa and was wondering what folks in the area has been seeing. Look forward to hear what's out and about.

Numbers are supposedly up 63% in my area of southwest Iowa. I work my dog fairly often on our crp ground and there were noticeably more birds this year than I have seen in the last 15. I am in Freemont County.

A friend of mine was over NE of Clarinda helping his dad take out crops last week. He said he spotted 2 coveys of quail, 1 woodcock, and 0 pheasants running the combine....but, he is a Fisheries guy so he may not know what a pheasant is.
