Went hunting on some private land with a friend's family on Sat. and Sun. He had 10 and 12 year old boys his wife and me and him. Hunted mainly CRP in corners and one 80 acre tract. Saw plenty of birds (well over 200), many getting up early or behind us (we walked pretty tight, but with 5 people it is hard to cover corners, and we couldn't really block). I shot a couple of roosters on Saturday as well as a few quail. My buddy and his family have never shot a pheasant, so they were all excited about mine. Sunday rolled around we got out nice and early my buddy shot his first pheasant in the first field we went to. The whole family was all excited and pumped to hunt. The next field he knocks down 2 more in an hour he has 3 birds, great morning we whiffed several birds and then around 2pm the 12 year old with his single shot 20 gauge hits one, I have never seen a kid so proud and excited it made the whole trip worthwhile. We hunted till dark and I shot 2 more roosters so our total was 8 roosters and 4 quail and one heck of a good time.

Good Luck Hunting,

Rod

AWESOME!!!!! It's great to have young hunters with you on the hunt, but it's even greater when they harvest. Like you said, it makes the whole hunt more exciting. Glad you had a sucessful hunt and congrats to the young hunter!:10sign::thumbsup:
