just got back from two really short days of running my two gsp's hunted one day 1 1/2 hr. , the other day about 3 hr. still warm out there but not as much. shot 6 roosters, no quail in the area, n.w. and turkey up the ying yang, mostly hunted them, saw one flock that i got to 380 birds before i got confused, kept telling them to stand still for a second, using my 14 ga., they never really came close enough, headed back out on sunday with an old, really old, college roommate, he wants to blast a turkey and watch a couple of good dogs run, then it is drinks in the evening to cure the wounds. for the less than 5 hours in the field i did pretty well, total birds seen in the field was about 80, way down from other years, birds seem to be holding pretty well, maybe cause nobody is chasing them. never in my life have i seen so many turkey, nose to butt one line of them was well over 400 yards long and all going someplace else. there ya have it folk, more when i get back. by the way, this ol' fart coming to hunt just finished a guided goose hunt in scottsbluff, birds were few
