Riley and I couldn't make it for the opener this year, but are looking forward to the rest of the season. Any word from Yuma? Good bird counts? See ya out there!:)
 
Had a Great Time on my first Pheasant Hunt. Where in Burlington all day, tons of birds, our group of 5 took at least 12 Birds; hunted CRP for the most part lost a few that went down, not happy about that but due diligence was done.
 
I hunted strictly WIA north of Holyoke in the same fields I hunted a year ago. Bird numbers in this area are certainly down over last opener. I talked to 6 other groups and all of them agreed.

I did talked to a few friends who hunted areas south of Haxton and Flemming and they reported seeing a large increase in the numbers in those areas. It also sounds like the crews that hunted the Burlington areas did well.

I have no doubt the total count in the state is up...but not north of Holyoke.
