Heading to Kansas for first time about Dec 10 and was curious about snake problems in North Central area.(Smith Center area) We dont encounter this in Michigan...any input would be appreciated...thanks

Not saying you won't run into one, but the odds that late in the year of running into one is pretty slim. There's usually enough hard freezes and the daytime temps are cool enough to keep them holed up for the year.

you will likely be more concerned with snow and impassable roads, snakes are down for good way before Dec. 10th.......have fun.

it has been below freezing at night so they will be gone. it was warm yesterday and one was basking in the road, but that will likely be the last one I see this year. You probably have a better chance of seeing one in Michigan in October than here in December

I'm also a Michigan hunter.

I will be hunting in the Hill City and Larned areas this season. I've hiunted Western Kansas for over 15 years and never seen a rattlesnake in Dec.

Have great hunt.
