Miss baseball season and lazy days at the lakes/creeks??? Tally my vote for No.
How bout we have the northern states skip summer so we can vacation there, do a bit of bird hunting, then come back here to 90 degree days on the water? How's that for a compromise?

Skip it! Crappie taste better through the ice anyway, boats just suck money out of that you could be spending on hunting. I would miss baseball though.
Agreed. Crappie is much better out of cold water. I'm actually looking forward to the crappie and catfish spawn though. I have a couple of dandy spots to fish for spawning cats. I take my younger daughter out and a couple of her friends out in the boat during that time and they have a blast catching them.
They have named their crew the "catfish gang". I think a few of us are going this weekend if it stays nice. Catch some ice out cats using shad guts on the flats.
