Skeet shooting near Breckenridge?

Hi All,

Today I drove from Como to Breckenridge via Boreas Pass road. It was a beautiful day to be in the mountains. I can't wait for Fall so I can repeat the trip while the Aspen are turning.

After crossing Boreas Pass and heading down towards Breckenridge, just a few miles before the dirt road turned to asphalt, I noticed what looked like a skeet field and an adjoining trap field below the road along a creek.

I tried to locate this shooting facility on the satellite photos on Google, but that section had a bunch of cloud cover obscuring that portion of the photo.

Does anyone know what this shooting field is? I assume it is a private club, anyone know the name . . . . ?

Thanks

I don't and I have traveled that way a few times. It may be a private club. Did you try calling a local outdoors/hunting store in Breck or Fairplay?

retrvrman - thanks for the reply. I did more searching on Google Maps and finally located the spot in the satellite photo:

There is a skeet field and a separate adjoining trap field located on Indiana Creek alongside the Indiana Creek dirt road at just below the 10,400' contour line.

Indiana Creek flows into the east side of Goose Pasture Tarn, and Goose Pasture Tarn is located right next to Highway 9 about 2 miles south of Breckenridge. Google Maps does not show the Indiana Creek road going as far up Indiana Creek as the skeet/trap fields, but the Google satellite photo clearly shows a very good dirt road up to the skeet/trap fields. The photo shows the road ending at the shooting fields.

My guess is that this a private shooting facility, which is why Google Maps does not show the road going up the Indiana Creek drainage as far as it does.
