short trip to Iowa

I'm planning a short hunting trip to the east side of Iowa next week. Driving out from PA. Used to live in Davenport so I have a few spots in the area, but I was wondering does anyone have any suggestions on areas b/w the quad cities and Iowa city? Just myself and my lab (who needs the work bad). Last year went up to George and had a great few days. I know the quad cities isn't the best area in the state, but its the shortest drive for me and will allow me a solid 2 1/2 days of hunting. I appreciate any suggestions or updates. BTW- what is the current weather like now?

cant help with your hunt but the weather is crazy for this time of year. Should be a great or carrying over birds to spring...so far. Best of Luck! Report back!

Lost Grove Lake Area

--Hunted 2 hours this week at lost grove lake with 2 bird dogs the wildlife population is almost non existent, very sad, I remember 10years ago out their there was all kinds of game. Very sad our DNR at it's finest asleep at the wheel.

My friends from around that area of the state have not reported well at all this year concerning bird numbers or any hotspots. I have not hunted there myself and have focused mostly on the northwest of the state with some success. The weather is awesome!:) It is indeed great to be an Iowan and also great to be able to hunt birds in this weather! Enjoy!:)
