This last week two friends and I saw many pheasant crops with shelled, ie husked, sunflower seeds. All of these crops had zero unhusked, ie black, seeds. I can never remember seeing this before. Seems like all I can remember are birds with seeds that still have black husks and they let the gizzard bust out the seed meat. My friends said the birds are dehusking the seeds in the field. I thought that it was more likely a new harvester has been developed that removes the husk.
