I was thinking of heading out to Seibert and Yuma for a couple of days this week - either weds/thurs or thurs/fri. Anyone know how the hunting has been. I know its supposed to be a bit warmer.

Hunted today north of Seibert/Stratton/Vona area...pretty warm and calm. Beautiful day, but pheasants were flushing pretty wild. I sure wish we would get some weather to concentrate birds. They were very scattered; some in big bluestem/switchgrass stands, some in brome grass areas, some in pretty short and thin pature grass. OH well...

I still haven't made it out. I burned my hand pretty bad a few days ago and with the temps in the 60s, im not sure if it is worth it. Maybe next week will bring some cooler weather.

I'd like to know how you did, Ive hunted the WIA in those areas 3 times and have only seen a couple of birds that were flushing far out as soon as my dog got on point. Still looking for our first pheasant, think Im going to make the trip further east tomorrow.

Didn't do well at all. I flushed two hens and connected with a jackrabbit and that was about it. I saw one rooster flush from the road on private land on my way out in Flagler. I am thinking I am going to head to Holyoke/Phillips County in the next week. Might have a few good days here with the snow and colder weather.

I hunted in Vona on Sunday. The pup took off right off the bat and flushed 2 hens before I even got my gun loaded. Hit the last field of the day around 1pm and she pointed on a rooster that my friend missed, and while I was rassing him for missing a shot so close had a rooster flush behind me which I then missed. Figures... Going to hunt this weekend at some point, will be the end of my season have shoulder surgery next week.
