Securing Permission From Farmers

I plan on knocking on a few farmers doors this weekend. I saw some good bird populations on private lands. Any advice for securing land with farmers? Are they usually open to allowing people on their land?

Wait until deer season is over and start asking. Most people will not let you until its over. Yes. there are very nice folks in Neb and a lot of them will let you hunt.
