it was funny a few years ago we spotted 1 here at my little farm it was not a kids pet either it was i think they call em a black tailed or black tipped jackrabbit ? they were the biggest damn rabbits i ever seen maybe except a snow shoe ive seen up by our deer shack but i didnt get a good look at that 1 i seen these huge damn rabbits love to pop 1 all white with the black ears they look cool...
now i know what makes some of them big damn holes out there i fall into to damn rabbits!!! maybe its the lack of predators in that part of SD??? i never herd any coyotes out there only by watertown the biggest town we came through go figure???
out in pheasant country SD they still predator control big time to help the pheasants... i wonder if states wear the pheasants are doing poor due to drought & other things that if the predators were controlled some more if the pheasants couldnt reproduce a little better??? in KS NE IA i have seen while spring turkey hunting racoons,opossum & coyotes all running around in the day time with no real fear??? we turkey hunted SD this past MAY never herd a coyote or seen poop in 3 days of hunting any living pheasant helps the population coons skunks opossum coyotes fox all take there share of pheasants they dont need to all be killed but they need to be controlled more in certain regions/areas of pheasant/quail/prairie grouse country...
