Sandhill cranes??

Took the pup out for some field work this AM and saw something I've not seen before in Scott County (eastern Iowa). There were a couple of sandhill cranes standing in the bean field next to us. Suppose the strong winds we had earlier in the week could have blown them off course during migration.

Pup found seven pheasants in 45 minutes too!

I've hunted a lot in that area also and never recall seeing or hearing sandhills. Wind must have blown them off course, lol. You must have hit the mother lode to find 7 pheasants that fast in Scott county. Hearing some good things from my friends in Iowa this fall.:cheers:
