Russell and Osborne Co WIHAs and Bird Report?

I'm looking for some insight and bird reports on the Russell and Osborne Co WIHAs. How's the bird hunting on the walk-ins? I'm planning a trip in mid-December for myself, four buddies, and one dog. We're looking to do a combo hunt and since I've been out of the loop for a while now, I have no clue where to hunt. I've read the KDWP reports and browsed through a lot of this forum. But, any additional input and advice would be greatly appreciated.

3 of us hunted the WIHA is this area opening weekend Sat only. Jumped a few covey of quail and only one pheasant. We went home empty, but talked to a few others that had good luck early in the day. There were a lot of hunters and most fields we hunted had already been hunted early in the day. Planning to get back out there, but based on comments in the forum, will try a little further south

It is funny to me to hear some of the luck of the hunters that where out in the Russell area. We went on opening weekend and we hunted both private and WIHA land and we had no problems jumping birds. As a matter of fact we seen more birds this year than in the past few. I was supprised of all of the quail we seen. They have more than doubled in the last 5 years. We are going to go back out there the weekend of Dec 11 if you would be interested in joining us.
