Well I hunted Saturday by myself south of Barnsville. I started there and ended there but hunted my way over to the Orwell Dam to take look then back to Barnsville. I hunted public only. I saw pheasants on every walk, only problem was they were all hens. I did manage however to shoot the only rooster I saw all day at about 5. It was a long day up until then. For the day I saw 30 + hens the dogs did ok in the dry conditions. Lots of burrs. My wirehair looked like she was wearing a sweater.

Sunday I took advantage of the weather and went duck hunting up by Hitterdahl. Boy did the mallards decoy nice. Flocks of 50 - 100 would lock up from way up make several swings and then commit. My dad and I shot or limit of mallards and we also shot 4 spoonies. It was a great hunt.:10sign:

ive been doing some duck hunting the last couple of days and the mallards have been doing just that...circle a couple times and commit! the drake mallards with the huge emerald heads are almost as cool as pheasants. almost:)

did a hour walk near that area the other day got up 3 hens & a rooster nicked the rooster but only wish i had more time to hunt that day i had just found the birds!!! no water sucks cattails are wear its at!!!

didnt see nearly as many waterfowl as i did in other yrs??? guess it depends on who you talk to ???
