It's a rare day for me when the season is half way over and I get a chance to hunt some ground that hasn't been hunted this year. For me it was my trip to SD without leaving Iowa. The labs did a good job but with the temp at -10 I couldn't feel my fingers. I struggled to get my safety off or point the gun. I probably could have shot at 8 roosters and saw many others so it was a good morning. I took my DK out to the same place at 330 and the temp was now at a balmy 6 degrees and my fingers were no longer numb. With two nice points and nice tracking job, we got our three birds by 425. It was a nice day to be hunting.
