My wife is from Jefferson city and wants to move back closer to home. I am wondering is there any good bird hunting spots close to Jeff or is it just reserve hunting? thanks for the info.
 
you will look very hard to find a covey of quail around central missouri. However, I have heard of a few being found on farms specifically targeted on enhancing the quail population. For pheasants your only option would be preserve hunting.
 
No pheasants in the central part of the state. Some quail but not many. If you want pheasants in state you need to be in the northern part of state. There are a few preserves in the area.
