Well just got back from our annual trip out to Mankato, not a whole lot to brag about. There were 10 of us and 3 GSP's one of which was my 10 month old and we ended up with 4 roosters for the entire weekend. Even though we didn't end up seeing a lot of birds I was ecstatic when Champ pointed 3 single hens, and then finally pointed a mature rooster which I dropped. I'm ready and rearin to get out into some of the "hot" counties and see how he fairs with more birds! Couldn't contain the excitement and had to share with the group!

Glad to hear you had a good trip. Thats too bad about the bird numbers being low. We hunted the Mankato/Burr Oak area for about fifteen years. This year was the second year we decided to look elsewhere.

Mack and Tank both pointed a quail, Mack made a retreive on a downed quail. Pointed a hen also. He also backed and honored a couple times on another dogs points. I was proud of the pups as well!

I took Tank out this morning and he got his first solo quail! He actually pointed six singles and two covey and one hen phez. Now I just need to work on my end of things. I only connected on two of the quail
