was heading up to Presho for Thanksgiving holiday but everyone in my group (5 others) bagged out on me. has anyone been hunting around there this year, I'm trying to figure out if the 12 hour drive by myself would be worth it? Long way to go without someone to share the driving with but I do so love the pheasants. On a "normal" year I would talk myself into it, I've had great times there and love the country but i am somewhat hesitant due to the combination of possibly slim pickings and the effort it takes to do that trip alone (5 days total including drive) have some private access but not 5 Days worth. Whatcha think? thanks

Hunted public land there Saturday, it was hard, 4 of us walked about 10 miles and only got 7 roosters. Dogs pointed a bunch of hens but we saw very few roosters. There are large cracks in the ground because of the drought, in some cases the cracks were at least a few feet deep and a couple inches wide. I have never seen anything like it.

I was also there on Saturday on private ground (alone) . You will have opportunities, but not nearly what it used to be... If you dont capitalize on your ops, it will make for a long day.., Unfortunately, with the cold temps, and the addition of several layers of clothing, I didnt adjust well..
