Prairie Chickens?

I went chicken hunting this weekend up around ottawa county and actually saw 15-20birds in this section of land. End up getting 2 of them. I took my new GSP pup she's 10 months old. She did fairly well for her first time hunting for chickens. But my question is do Prairie chickens give off the same kind of scent as a pheasant or quail would? I know it's not the same scent but is it as strong? Seemed like the dogs had a hard time smelling them. (I understand it was Dry conditions as well)

Can't answer your question. Just wanted to congratulate you in getting 2 of them. That's a darn good day of early season chicken hunting! Didn't make it out this season
