Pine County MN

I hunted Pine County for the first time last weekend west of Hinckley. We only shot one rooster but we saw 10 hens. I have also seen a number of birds south of the Casino when driving.

I believe that Pine County was listed as one of the few Counties with a decent bird count this year. Has anyone else had sucess there?

I'm from Duluth and have just started pheasant hunting with my two lab puppies in the last two years. I hunt the WMAs from the Pine City area, west to Royalton and as far south as Princeton, quite often because it is the closest pheasant country to me. While I don't get alot of birds, I always see enough birds to keep me going back.

I live in Cloquet and spend a lot of time in Pine County. There are definitely birds around there.

Shhhhhhh! Not so loud. I am planning a trip up there this month and don't need everybody knowing about all those sweet spots. :D

I once saw more roosters up there than I have ever seen in person. It was like they were pen-raised birds being thrown out of this guy's barn.

Sorry fellas, no GPS coordinates on this spot.

I have a brother-in-law that lives up in that area. We try to get out once a year later in the season. We have had some very good hunts in December. In fact I shot my first 3 bird Minnesota limit up there.
