When I lived in New Hampshire I would catch them at night at roosting sites.
Use 2 radiator clamps to attach a landing net to a telescoping pole I bought for painting at Home Depot.
Shine headlamp up to locate roosting pigeons under a bridge. Turn the light off, raise the landing net,
turn the light back on and scoop a pigeon. Rinse and repeat.
Then I would train the next morning, dizzy the birds for pointer, no kill release.
