Pheasants/Quail around Lewis, KS

Not going to be able to scout ahead of season. Can anyone give me an idea of the number of birds compared to past years? Thanks in advance.
 
The area will still be below long-term averages I'm sure. There are a couple of WIHA parcels missing from the area this year too. Didn't see any quail while I was out but I'm sure there are some around. Crops are out and that's a good thing. I expect to see a better ratio of young birds this season, but I wouldn't suggest that it's going to be like it was a few years ago.
