pheasants at Cheynne Bottoms?

Looking into a late season waterfowl hunt with my two goldens and good hunting buddy at Cheyenne Bottoms. In addition to hunting ducks, wondering if there might be pheasants around. Know we will have to use non-toxic shoot, but we will be using that for ducks anyway. Also just because I like to eat them, are there any quail at Cheyenne Bottoms? Thanks much. First time poster. Someone sent me a link about this site and its pretty cool. PS. Here's a picture of my Golden from a pheasant hunt a few years ago in ND. She's now almost 10 and I'd like to get her and my 9 month old golden on some of Kansas waterfowl, with perhaps a pheasant or two thrown in.

There are pheasants at Cheyenne bottoms. There are quail in the area, but I don't know how many there are at the bottoms. There is plenty of WIHA within a reasonable proximity that will likely offer some decent quail hunting.
 
Just like Kansasbrittany said, there is plenty of WIHA land close enough to the Bottoms that you could easily make it a combo hunt. Good Luck
 
It's been a few years since I hunted pheasants at CB. I have always shot birds there. There is a lot of huntable land at CB. They also have quail restoration areas but I've never seen any quail there.

Give the office at CB a call. They are very helpful and informative.

Didn't realize they had an office there to call. I'll see if I can locate the number. I'm hearing all those areas around CB have decent Quail Populations. Be nice to have a second option if the duck hunting is over with fairly quickly.
 
They actually have a very nice information center there. Can't remember what they call it (wetlands education center?), but it's on the highway and you just can't miss it. Take a tour, it is an interesting place.
 
Got the info form CB today

Nice folks. I called and they sent me an entire packet of info. BTW, they said there were currently 250,000 Geese at CB as well as 45,000 ducks. My goodness that's a pile of birds.
 
Called today

Didn't specifically ask about ice. They did tell me they only got about 4-5 inches of snow out of this latest storm. Called for cold temps but it's that time.
