My buddy is always working on weekends. He asked me to take Tracy out hunting because he doesn't get to take her as much as she wants to go. We went Saturday afternoon and didn't get to pull the trigger. Sunday was intermittent drizzle but we went. It's a lot different hunting with a brittany dog. It seems like she never stops sniffing and it's hard to get her to take a break. I missed a rooster that I almost stepped on. Then I got one off a point. The last bird Tracy pointed but he wouldn't fly. She chased him all round a viney thorn patch and through barb-wire a few times. That made me nervous! But once she was on him there was no calling her back till the chase was over. I tried all new spots. I been doing that more lately, I think it makes you a better hunter.
