Pheasant question

There are some gun clubs up by walden and over by craig that have pheasants, but as far as wild birds up there? I dont think so, just dustys (blue grouse) and sage grouse and maybe some prairie chickens.

Depends on what your calling mountains. There are birds on the Western Slope!!!

I've hunted them a mile high. It's not the elevation, it's the habitat . . . ditches, brush, farm crops/feed. You won't find them in the Blue Grouse woods, however.

yup.. and Alamosa (San Luis Valley) "used" to harbor a pretty decent population of wild biirds.
But not in the 'forest habitat'..
