Pheasant in Ottumwa region?

Hi,
I've never hunted west of Ohio and I have a young 2 1/2 year old lab and am thinking about making a long weekend trip to hunt late season pheasant and quail in Iowa.
Is the area around Ottumwa likely to be a good area to try?
Any input is very much appreciated.

“Good” in comparison to other parts of the state, further NW, no. But you may be able to run into a few birds in that area.
