Pheasant hunting and deer season

Here in Michigan, deer hunting is huge, therefore shutting down bird season during rifle season. Wondering safety issues, etc. for pheasant hunting during deer season in Kansas...any input appreciated...thanks

I've never gone west to bird hunt during deer season, as I am usually deer hunting in the east.

There is nothing illegal about it, just wear a lot of orange and you should be good to go.

You won't have any problems. We are out a lot during deer season and I don't think you'll even hear a rifle shot most of the time.

Make sure you have a deer tag too. You never know what might be lurking at the edge of your "pheasant" field. Might get a chance to fill the deer tag before you start your bird hunt. Two out of the last three years I have had deer standing in the first field of the day. Lucky for them, I didn't bring my rifle the first time and I was already tagged out the second time.

If you don't like the taste of venison, you can still shoot it and give it to me.:cheers:

I bird hunt during deer season every year and never have any trouble. If you're hunting Walk-In or public ground, just stick to the fields instead of the woody areas.
