I may be re-inventing the wheel with this one but nevertheless give this recipe a try. This is very good with pheasant and even better with ruffed grouse
One pheasant or grouse
1 can whole cranberry sauce
1 cup white wine
1 cup half and half or cream
1 can mushrooms (fresh mushrooms are even better)
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon onion power
I cook the bird for about 1 hour at 350 degrees (this did the job using my oven. You're may need more or less time). I then sliced the meat up and put it back into the sauce. Enjoy!
