PF pushing for sportsmens act public hunting

We need laws that make non hunters pay their way when bird watching, plant gathering, hiking, or other activities they do on land paid for by license sales they don't pay for.

It will be nice to be able to buy my federal duck stamp without having to make a second trip to the pain-in-the-azz post office. At least here in Manhattan, it's as bad or worse than the DMV.

But I will be sad if they do away with the actual Duck Stamp, in favor of just a printed receipt that says "duck stamp" on it. I liked it much better when we (in Kansas) had an actual HIP stamp and state duck stamp. At the end of the season I used to frame one of my favorite pictures from the season, and put all the stamps down on the bottom corner of the photo. A nice way to remember the season, and the stamps say the year on them so it would help me remember that season also... Framing the receipt would kind of lose the effect...:(

Not here - welcome to Mayberry!! :D:D There is sometimes a tractor parked in front which is a pain to walk around. Most of the time he leaves it at the bar around the corner though:D

I don't like how we don't get our state stamps either. I emailed the DNR about how to obtain the stamps we pay for but didn't get a response:(. They're a bit understaffed over there.

Here in Colorado they give us the printed version on the license that says we have it and then they ask if we want the actual stamp mailed to us. I always say yes and then I can collect them without signing my name on it. shows up in about 10 days.

What if they dont like you shooting there pheasants, ducks, deer etc? There are more non hunters than hunters. Just a little devils advocate. Sportsman have a lot of pull right now because we contribute the most to Federal and state public land. What happens if we are no loner are the major contributor?

Right now here we have a couple commercials airing that are really good. Hug a hunter and hug a fisherman. In each commercial it tells how much money is raised for our wildlife from license sales and other. It shows a fisherman pumping gas and all the sudden a lady comes up and hugs him. Next, a hunter is paying his bill at a Diner and someone else gives him a hug. It really portray's the message.. of saying thank you for helping conserve our renewable resource.

On another note you use to have to get a stamp here to utilize our SWA's. So anyone entering had to have the stamp. If you were there to take pictures or bird watch, you still needed the stamp. I liked the program because the burden was everyone's.

It's a valid point but I believe most rabid anti hunters aren't out on public lands picking asparagus or other activities that would require them to purchase a public land use stamp. Most non hunters aren't anti hunting.

I could be wrong too.

Take a look at The Federal Wildlife Conservation Stamp Project. I think they would just as soon kick us out!
