Pen raised birds

I'm picking up pheasants the Friday before the opener and I was just wondering will some die of stress overnight or will they be fine for a day...any advice to keep the birds relaxed or keep them alive

Cover the cage/box, but don't trap the heat. If there are too many in the cage they'll overheat in a warm garage. I've kept birds alive overnight and hunted them the next day. We didn't lose any of 'em.
