OR (Outdoor Research) Gaiters

I wear a light weight pair of chaps in dry snow and a a heavier more waterproof pair in wet. Most days blue jeans naked( no chaps) especially in fence country because the carpenter pant I sometimes wear will get hung up in the crotch. Gaiters sound cool though.

I don't hunt in the deep snow nowadays. But when I did I would duct tape my legs from the ankle to the upper calf to keep snow out and keep my pant legs from freezing up.

For hunting in snow I don't use them, I just wear a pair of carhartts as it is "sugar snow"
where I hunt in Alaska and Montana.
If I'm hunting in wet snow, I wear a pair of Grundens Neptune rain pants over Lacrosse Alpha Burly boots.

I like my chaps when I’m hunting CRP and taller grasses. I was doing some deer drives the other day and wanted to wear some comfortable hiking shoes but knew I’d be walking through occasional briars and stuff no more than knee high, so I opted for the gaiters. For me, I’ll keep doing it this way.
