Once bitten twice shy

The wife suffered a pretty good dog bite to her left hand this evening. Got a call at work from her saying that Milo, my oldest EP bit her. Now Milo may lick you to death and biting someone is really not in his little doggy vocabulary.

Every day, twice a day the dogs get out to run. Before I feed I put everyone away and make sure the dogs are in and doors shut because I don't want anyone getting into the wrong pen while trying to feed.

Well futher investigation revealed she let them all out and then fed without them being put away. Obie was in his pen waiting on his food when Milo went running by and Obie apparently thought Milo was going to get in his pen and eat his food and went on the defensive. In the process of breaking up the fight that was happening Milo thought he was getting a mouth full of Obie when actually it was a mouth full of her hand!

Two stitches later, some butterfly bandaids, pain med, and some antibiotics to take we were back home and all was not good but better. Her hand is black and blue, swollen and hurts like, well, a dog bit hurts.

Milo and Obie do have a history between them. Obie has some sort of wierd dog crush on me and when any dog gets around me he takes offense to it. Out hunting he is just fine with other dogs. Put one in the yard near me and the little sucker turns into a devil!

Neither of the dogs were hurt.

That sucks! I hope you coached her that a boot separates dogs much more effectively than a hand.

LOL Toad. She is kind of a city girl even though she grew up sort of in the country. Most likely she had flip flops on.

Yeah she did but I'll just sneak out this weekend. Push the truck to the end of the drive and be gone.

Once upon a time a dumb guy from Georgia I see every time I shave had a few too many adult beverages and grabbed his 100lb pitbull to get him out of a fight with one of his bird dogs.

One quick bite and my arm was black from my elbow to my finger tips, yep jet black, not black and blue. Four fang holes to the bone.

My pit was not the aggressor and was immediately trying to say he didn't know it was me when he realized what he had bitten. He's actually quite gentle, and very loyal.

I would rather be bitten by a pack of EPs.

My hand was the size of a catchers mitt for a week.

I quit drinking LOL.

Oh say it's not so, a nice pitbull! I couldnt imagine getting bit buy one of those. Dog bites hurt like hell.

I loved all the 4 english pointers I have had but they all wouldnt put up with the others messing with their food, beds and I sometimes would have to throw a few slaps of my own when boxing em up in a kennel together while out hunting. It happens. I will say my pointers would lay down next to me while in bed at a motel or lodge and noone even friends woulda got away with messing with me while I was sleeping. Haha.
