Well it's been a while since I've spent much time in the field specifically to chase ringnecks and boy how I've missed it. My buddy Brian and I have been out a few times thus far and have had a couple good days. I just found this forum so I thought I'd jump on in and see what it's all about. Here's a couple pics from the last couple trips...

The first picture of you and the pheasants made me laugh. It's an optical illusion but it looks like two of the birds are suspended from the wire by the tips of their beaks. Sort of like the scene in, " A Christmas Story" where he gets his tongue stuck to the flag pole. I know it's cold in Montana but... Barb under the chin, huh?
Great pictures and looks like great hunts.

Yeah it's the ole barn wire in the eye hole trick. Works pretty good. We haven't had much for cold temps yet but I'm sure it's coming.

Cold you can dress for. It was the 40 mph winds that lasted for days I had when I was back there that made it almost impossible. First time I was in a dust storm where I couldn't see 30'. It looked like the forest fires we get out here. 30 degrees, 40 mph, glasses, priceless.

Mtmedic, where did your Weim come from?

Also, nice pics!

She's my buddies pup and he picked her up from a breeder north of us in Carter, MT. It's my understanding she maintains both show lines and field lines. This pups parents are great hunters.

Thanks for the info. We have a 15 month old male Weim from the breeder in Carter, and he is a fine pup. :)
