Do either of you plan to hunt this weekend? I have a group of (4) and the dog we were going to work is stuck in Cortez, CO due to the weather. Any tips on NE Colorado hunting without a dog? Thanks. -TH

Yeah, find someone with a dog!

My best advise to hunt without a dog is to shoot each bird twice! No one likes to cripple a bird, and without a dog they are nearly impossible to find.

Good call, I don't want to leave any in the field. Nothing worse than not finding a down bird. I'll also hunt with improved modified or full chokes to keep the patterns tight. Thanks for your help!

EPM: How's it look out there? All rain, or has it been snowing at all? Would really like find everything wet but snow-free when I get out there this weekend...
Fresh snow
+no corn
+opening day crowds
= it's all over for the birds in the first week....
