Hello everyone!
Just joined from SE Michigan. I've been bird hunting most of my life and love spending time in the field with my friends and dog. I usually hunt with a friend who trains champion GSP's, but recently rescued a 2 year old Chocolate Lab who seems to have had quite a bit of bird training. Now that I have my own bird dog, I'm getting really excited to a lot more upland hunting.
Previous to this dog I had a Yellow Lab that was an extremely smart and adaptable dog. He was a retrieving machine and would anything I wanted. Unfortunately, I never trained him for birds as I had planned. We took him out Pheasant hunting on his 10th birthday and he took to it like he had been doing it his whole life. I felt like I had let him down. I promised not to do that with this new dog.
I'm hoping to learn a lot here as well as contribute where I can.
