New Hunting Pal

Just booked a weekend of hunting with an old friend of the family that I have never hunted with before. He lives in our home county and the friendship between his and my family, farmers and ranchers all, goes back generations. He's one those quietly super-competent guys, the type who is usually a great shot and a boon pal on a hunting trip. Taking him to the Happy Hunting Grounds in NW KS.

That is high praise. I aspire to be quietly super-competent some day, at least in someone's eyes. That's one advantage of taking newbies out, they don't know any better...
